Q.Can Microsoft Teams replace our phone system?
Yes. Microsoft Teams Phone with Direct Routing or Microsoft Calling Plans provides full PSTN telephony — incoming and outgoing calls to any phone number, auto-attendants, call queues, hold music, voicemail, and call recording. For most SMEs, this replaces a traditional PBX or hosted VoIP system entirely while reducing costs.
Q.What is the difference between Teams setup and Teams Phone?
Teams setup covers the collaboration features — chat, meetings, file sharing, and channel configuration. Teams Phone is the telephony add-on that enables external calls to and from standard phone numbers. We can set up Teams collaboration-only or combine it with full telephony replacement.
Q.How long does a Teams setup take?
Basic Teams tenant configuration for an SME can be completed in 1–3 days. Teams Phone deployment (including number porting) typically takes 2–3 weeks due to number porting lead times. Teams Rooms hardware installation is done on-site and typically takes half a day per room.
