What is Teams Phone / Calling Plans?
Microsoft Teams Calling Plans are a Microsoft-hosted PSTN service that gives Teams users external phone numbers and the ability to call any phone number, without needing a third-party SBC or SIP trunk.
How many minutes are included?
Microsoft offers plans with 120, 600, or 1200 domestic minutes per user/month. We'll recommend the right bundle based on your actual call volumes.
Can I port my existing business numbers?
Yes — Microsoft supports number porting for UK geographic numbers, DDI ranges, and 0800 numbers. We manage the entire porting process.
Is Teams Calling Plans cheaper than Direct Routing?
For low call volumes (under ~1,000 minutes/month per user), Calling Plans are often simpler and similarly priced. For high volumes, Direct Routing with a SIP trunk is usually more cost-effective.
What Microsoft licences do I need?
You need a Microsoft Teams Phone licence (included in M365 E5 or available as an add-on for E1/E3/Business plans) plus a Domestic Calling Plan. We'll advise the optimal licence mix.
Can I mix Calling Plans and Direct Routing?
