Our Privileged Access Management services

Privileged Identity Management (PIM)

Microsoft Entra PIM configuration — just-in-time role activation, approval workflows, time-limited admin access, and full audit logs for all privileged role assignments across your M365 and Azure environment.

Privileged Session Monitoring

Record and monitor all privileged sessions — server access, database connections, cloud console activity. Full session replay for forensic investigations and compliance audits.

Least-Privilege Access Design

Audit and right-size all admin accounts to the minimum permissions required. Remove standing admin rights, implement role separation, and document the privilege model across your estate.

Service Account Management

Discovery and governance of service accounts — often the most overlooked attack vector. We inventory, secure, rotate credentials, and implement managed service account (MSA) patterns.

Privileged Access Workstations (PAWs)

Deploy hardened, dedicated workstations for admin tasks — isolated from internet browsing and email. PAWs dramatically reduce the attack surface for your most privileged operations.

PAM for External Users & Third Parties

Control and monitor privileged access for contractors, vendors, and managed service providers. Time-limited access, MFA enforcement, and session recording for all third-party admin activity.

— Why PAM?

Why privileged accounts are your biggest risk

Every organisation has privileged accounts — IT administrators, domain admins, database owners, cloud console root users, service accounts. These accounts can do things that standard user accounts cannot: install software, create new users, access all data, modify security controls, and disable audit logging.

When a standard user account is compromised, the damage is limited. When a privileged account is compromised, the attacker effectively becomes you — with full access to your entire infrastructure. They can encrypt everything (ransomware), exfiltrate all your data silently over months, create backdoor accounts, and cover their tracks.

The challenge is that most organisations have far more privileged accounts than they realise: IT contractors who were given admin rights "temporarily" years ago, service accounts with domain admin privileges "because it was easier", test accounts never deleted, and shadow admins with indirect privileged access through nested group memberships.

PAM solves this by enforcing the principle of least privilege: every account has only the minimum access needed for its function, admin rights are granted just-in-time and automatically expire, and every privileged action is logged and auditable.

— Microsoft PIM

PAM with Microsoft Entra Privileged Identity Management

For businesses on Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra Privileged Identity Management (PIM) is the most cost-effective PAM starting point — it's included in Entra ID P2 (part of M365 Business Premium or E3/E5 licences).

PIM enables: just-in-time role activation (admins request elevated access when needed, approval is required, access expires automatically), time-limited assignments (no more permanent Global Admins), approval workflows (senior approval required before admin rights activate), and full audit logs of every role activation.

Coreitech designs and implements PIM for UK businesses as part of our IAM service — including role design, approval workflow configuration, access review schedules, and alert policies. For businesses that need to go beyond what PIM provides (non-Microsoft systems, secrets management, session recording), we extend with CyberArk, Delinea, or BeyondTrust.
